Designed to cover special topics in the watercolor landscape genre, this series will allow students to ‘paint along’ with Cynthia . We will explore traditional and alternative watercolor techniques and paint application/brush handling, along with more nuanced discussions of composition and design.
As with all Zoom courses, video recordings of the class sessions will be made available to registered students to allow review and to assist in homework assignments. A separate class critique session will be scheduled to offer review and feedback of inclass work and homework assignments.

Brushes: You can use your favorite watercolor brushes - we can work with what you
have. If you are new to watercolor, a decent selection that includes the following would
be helpful: 1 inch flat, 1⁄2 inch flat, #12 round, #8 round, #6 round. Good quality
synthetic brushes are fine. For the smaller brushes, make sure they have a good sharp
point. I can offer a list of my “go-to” brushes if you are in the position to add to/or
upgrade your collection.
Palette: For studio work: 12 x 16inch plastic watercolor palette with a cover is highly
suggested. Can be found at most art supply stores, as well as online.
Tube Paints: We can work with what you have. I will, from time to time, introduce new
colors to tempt you.
